Matryoshka Hits One Million Views!

Well, a new Hachi song has just reached the million views milestone and it’s none other than Matryoshka, in which the feat was achieved on September 21st 2010 at 14:41 hours Japan Time. For more information and images about the song just continue reading after the break~

Producer – Hachi
PV, Lyrics, Compose – Hachi

The word Matryoshka actually refers to the russian dolls and the descriptions on it can be found in the intermissions of the video, first in Japanese and in other languages later on. The song itself is pretty much open to interpretations as nothing much has been made known about it, except that it’s a joke song from Hachi. One of our blog members bunnychan has her interpretation on this:

The actual lyrics of the song are all over the place, but one interpretation may be that the singer sees themselves as un-connected to reality (“patched up, crazy matryoshka”) who is sending a nonsense message to no one in particular, and can only continue dancing and laughing at the world, despite everything happening around them.

(If any of you have a better interpretation then feel free to suggest it in the comments =) )

And onto the various illustrations done by different artists on Pixiv. Enjoy~

Congrats on Matryoshka and Hachi for the achievement, and with that another GUMI song is soon reaching a million views as well. Look forward to an article on it from one of us when it happens~ =D

Yay! Love that song! It's a little surprising that it reached 1 Mil so fast.

    …that's YowaMon, right?

Ah. Which one went up quicker, Mosaic Roll or Matryoshka? Either way, congrats Gumi!

Also, while most Matryoshka art creeps me out that first pic is ridiculously cute, awesome draw-in for the article haha.

    Way to go, Hachi!
Also, it looks like Musunde Hiraite is going to hit 2 mil soon as well.

What Bunnychan said makes sense. It could also be that the person feels they are "going to pieces" and that they're feeling several different feelings at once, that they conceptualize in layers. For example, sometimes we're glad that someone won a prize but deep down mad that we weren't the winner. In that example the anger would be "inside" the happiness.

The way I see the song is about getting over depression with your best friend. Depression: Ah, I feel broken apart
Throw out all your memories, too
Ah, how I want to know,
    To the deep down…
and the "package" is will the friends reach their goal. The best friend part: The song is always a duet and Down with a sickness?
    Show me your song!
    See how today…
I'm still a patched up, crazy matryoshka!

They over come the depression and just become happy by singing, dancing, and giggling despite how everyone else acts. They call themselves "patched up and crazy" because they don't care, they are just happy to be themselves

I still have no flipping idea what on earth the song’s about…
