MIKUBOOK.com Goes Live

MIKUBOOK Logo
But it's already my favorite! For 3 years, even!

Yesterday, Crypton launched a website and pseudo-social network in the form of MIKUBOOK.com. For all those who got in early: congratulations… but you’ll have to re-register all over again due to a system error. As the “Very Early Beta!”-sign suggests, this website may still come and go, as well as having additional features in the near future, so stay tuned!

Info from MIKUBOOK.com:

About MIKUBOOK

MIKUBOOK makes more fun to discover your next favorites by sharing your like with VOCALOID fans all over the world !

You can browse around things (BETA ver. only shows video) related to VOCALOID such as Hatsune Miku, and recommend new things for the others.

How does MIKUBOOK work?

Once you’ve “fave” a video, MIKUBOOK starts to show new videos you may like on your stream.

Not like just another automatic recommend system, videos are also recommened directly by other VOCALOID fans.

Knows songs other users probably do not know but they may like? If so, “Recommend”!

With “Recommend”, you can suggest new video for people have same taste,”If like this, you may like this. “- the way you do with your friends!

The More “fave”s and “Recommend”s, the more fun with MIKUBOOK!!!

  1. *3 days later*

Now Google Plus has VOCALOIDS. Lots of Vocaloids, have dem everywhere, drag them to your circle of favorites. Circles! We add more of them!

Yeah, I have a mixed feeling about it.

    1. A G+ lucky owner ! Pleeaase do you have an invite to Google+ please please please m(_ _)m You can send it to sam [at] lectrum.eu

  2. I registered, and it's a cute little website. It's great if you want to find new songs in a simplistic manner.

  3. Totes a MUST for any Vocaloid fan out there—ESPECIALLY those too fag to actually join Otaku sites/would rather enjoy the scene in privacy.

    It has it's advantages.

  4. I don't enjoy this site at all, honestly. It's a Crypton site so it will only feature their VOCALOIDs and I find it awkward to use. Honestly, I'll stick to using NND. The functionality of it doesn't work for me. Even though I know it's a beta it doesn't look very appealing, imho.

  5. Well this is really early beta (ain't it "alpha" BTW ?)

The most irksome is the absolute randomness of the romaji they use (Kunrei, Hepburn, Wapuro ?) and the use of the space character… For the remaining lot of features missing, I guess they will improve other time.

Nevertheless signed, although no OpenID signing possible.

  6. Ooooh~ A little social network to find new Vocaloid songs and to share with other Vocaloid fans such as myself?! lol I kind of like it. I will most definitely check it out. 😀

  7. It's like facebook, only for Vocaloid fans LOL

Correction, only for Crypton Vocaloid fans anyway.

I'll check this one out, looks convincing. =D

  8. Uh hmm… I think it'd be useful for someone just getting into the Vocaloid scene, but for those who have been actively following the rankings on NND, or just aren't completely into Crypton's Vocaloids, it's more of a step backwards I guess.

Nevertheless I hope they continue improving the site. It's got a fair bit of potential.

  9. can someone ask the site to include akutoku no judgement? It's a great song and I'm surprised it isn't on the site already O_O

  10. To be quite honest, now being serious here, I have the feeling that Crypton is just leaving on the blue the rest of the vocaloids. I mean, we are supposed to create such a massive entangled web that connects all of them and make them known they are… well… interesting voices to use. Now it just seems to be ''Here, this is Vocaloid 2 circle Jerk, the rest (even Kaito and Meiko) don't really exist.''

It just boggles me how Vocaloid 3 will be recieved, cause it will have to live up to the shadow of it's former product.

  11. My main issues with the site are that 1.) instead of having actual translations of the song titles, they're romanized, which is confusing and looks plain ugly, and 2.) they only seem to have popular songs. For instance, I'm pretty sure that they have none of AVTechNO!'s stuff. So if someone uses this site as their only source of finding Vocaloid songs, they're going to be missing a *lot* (and that's not taking into account the lack of non-Crypton Vocaloids…).
