Last month, we surprised you with a certain news about Sakura no Ame. We told you that they are looking for people who wanted to audition in the upcoming Sakura no Ame movie. Of course, no detail were revealed until yesterday, where ORICON made a news about this movie. It’s confirmed that Tetra Film Studio would produce the movie. Shirahama Kazuki (白濱一樹), who went to Keiou Gijuku (慶応義塾) high school wrote the scenario, and shooting has begun since March 16th by Tetra director Hiromi Tanaka (田中博巳). They aim to finish principal shooting by the end of April. It will be their 10th movie production.

So what’s the movie about? This love story would revolve around six boys, who are called “otaku” behind their backs by their friends. They would like to be “cool” before Graduation and get the girls they like, but something would happen along the way. Even this Sakura no Ame movie surprised absorb. They will make a cameo appearance in the movie, too. “I never thought that a song we made, Sakura no Ame, is being made into a movie. I would never think that a movie could be made based on a song. It would be interesting to see how many people would watch it”.

I myself can’t wait to see what this movie would be like. A single song, Sakura no Ame, which made it to the 32rd place in the Oricon ranking when the launched the maxi single and the song which was used by 80 schools as their graduation song, is now being made into a movie. I’d hope that Miku would somehow make a cameo appearance, maybe as one of the students in their high school. Sakura no Ame is an amazing song, and if you haven’t heard of it yet, I highly recommend it. Hear it in Nico Nico Douga by clicking here and on YouTube with English subtitles by clicking here. As more information is released about this movie, I will continue to update this blog. See you later! =)

Well, with so many Miku songs already on the Nico Nico Douga million views video ranking chart it should come as no surprise that another song by Hatsune Miku would be added to the list sooner or later. And that would happen to be Sakura no Ame, which hit the million views mark on 30th March 2009, at 12.26 pm Japan time, just about three hours ago. To listen to the song and for more information about it continue reading!

Lyrics: halyosy
Composer: halyosy
Arrange: halyosy
Vocal: Hatsune Miku

Basically the song talks about the thoughts and feelings surrounding graduation and how graduation tends to make people feel emotional during this period. Created by halyosy back in Feb 2008, the song was a popular hit and was on the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking for some time before it eventually died down. Then, as the graduation season draws near again this year, the song gets popular once again and subsequently regains its top spot on the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking. In March 2009, halyosy’s band “absorb” performs the song live for a high school graduation and now the song is being used throughout the high schools in Japan as their graduation song.

Just recently it was announced that a movie will be based on it and they are still holding auditions for extra cast up to today, 30th March 09 (as the main cast have already been selected), as Kevin has kindly pointed in the post regarding this song. And oh, if you haven’t listened to the version sung by absorb as well, then it’s time you watch it below. It’s truly a very nice song in my opinion.

Once again, congrats on Sakura no Ame reaching the one million views mark. currently 132rd on the Nico Nico Douga Million Views Video Ranking list. =)

Movie?

I’m pretty sure most Vocaloid fans would be familiar with this song. Created by halyosy and played by halyosy’s band “absorb”. The song itself concerns the thoughts and emotions surrounding graduation, and was played live for a high school graduation this month. The song itself is now used throughout Japanese high schools as their graduation song. They released a maxi single of the song, containing 7 versions of the song, including two less-vocal/karaoke versions. 2 versions by Hatsune Miku and 3 versions by absorb. So what’s next? A movie based on it.

That’s right, a movie. No details have been announced, but SMN (School Multimedia Network) is holding an audition for the main and extra cast of the movie. Apparently the main cast have been selected, so only places for the extra cast is available. If you’re interested, go to their website and contact them. They’re holding an audition for the extra cast between tomorrow, 28th of March until 30th of March. Anyways, it’s interesting to see a movie based on Sakura no Ame. I’d love to hear what’s it about, and will keep you informed with more updates. Interestingly enough though, the film would be made by Tetra Film Studio, which are mainly students. If you haven’t listened to this song, now is a good time to listen to it. It’s an awesome song made by halyosy. Or click here to watch the PV on YouTube.
