An English Version Of Hatsune Miku In The Future?

Recently it was made known during the “Hatsune Miku: Meet the Makers of a Digital Idol” panel over at New York Comic Con/New York Anime Festival 2010 with regards to the future plans for Miku and the rest of Crypton Vocaloids in the US according to the co-creators of Vocaloid, Hiroyuki Ito and Wataru Sasaki. We could even have a English version of Miku in the future provided a condition has to be met first. Read on for more information!

The information have been summarized and listed out in point form below for everyone’s convenience.

Miku to get covered in a magazine in the US called “Tokyo Kawaii”, this is a iPhone application and the publisher is by ASCII.

Kagamine Appends scheduled to be released in December 2010.

Possibility of a Vocaloid shop opening in the US should there be enough demand for it.

Plans for a English Miku to be materialized provided her Facebook has more than 39,390 likes.
(39 could be pronounced as “Miku” or “Sankyu” in Japanese, which means “Thank You” in English)

So for all the Vocaloid and Miku fans out there this is a great chance to make yourself be heard to the Crypton officials and Saki Fujita (Hatsune Miku’s VA). At least 39,390 likes are required on Facebook to make the plan into a reality and there’s already over 13,800 likes as of this article so get your Facebook accounts and support the move if you like the plans of a English Miku. ^_^

    Hey Chinese Miku fan! Your gramar is great, i cant notice anything wrong… then again i am bad at spelling. i cant wait for a vocaloid store and the english version of vocaloid! i have a patched english Miku Vocaloid software that requires romaji and i cant wait for the english version! i hope it comes out soon… im not too sure about it now because of the radiation and sunami that hit Japan. I hope they are ok, and the english vocaloid comes out soon

    This is amazing. I just listened to her sing “Ballet Micaniqe” On youtube, and amazed at how far they’ve come. What I would love is if they made the Kagamine twins sing in English, too. But I agree with Paulchan- Miku’s already so popular, so why not do other vocaloids first? The others need more popularity.

    Personally, I don’t see why people think this is a bad idea. Making Miku sing English is great, and will be easier for those who’re having trouble learning Japanese. I know you guys are saying that people may forget where she came from, but really? Anyone who sees an anime-style character (Miku) can’t possibly forget that it’s originally a Japanese style. At least nobody I know. And, they aren’t exactly giving Miku to America, wouldn’t the original creators of Miku still be in charge of the whole deal? She’d still have the same songwriters, and if they decide to hire American songwriters, then the original creators should still have a say-so in which songs are official and which aren’t. Besides, It’s not all of us western residents that forget what music really should be. Like me, I’m American, and I listen to Vocaloids more than any other artist, because their music really IS music.
