I'm going to call you out on this, and it's not because you don't have a point. Yes, there have been songs that are probably well past their due dates, but they aren't there by accident. The scoring and ranking system is objective, and being able to "retire" songs smacks of subjectivity. The fact that there have been songs on the charts for a year or more is just an anomaly perpetuated by the timelessness of the music and the fact that they were there first.

Would I be surprised if someone were botting to run the scores up? No, but the numbers fall as they do and we need to take them at their face value for now until otherwise known.

One thing I don't like about the countdown is that they never retire videos. Miku Miku ni Shiteageru, Black Rock Shooter, World is Mine, Meltdown, Double Lariat, Disappearance of Hatsune Miku... they all have been on the countdown for way longer than any countdown should have a single video. At least with normal countdowns, the videos get put into retirement, and put up on a sort of hall-of-fame list. I would really like to see that happen with the Vocaloid Countdown. As it is now, they're clogging up spots that could be used for newer videos that are just as good and deserve their time in the sun.
