Well, with so many Miku songs already on the Nico Nico Douga million views video ranking chart it should come as no surprise that another song by Hatsune Miku would be added to the list sooner or later. And that would happen to be Sakura no Ame, which hit the million views mark on 30th March 2009, at 12.26 pm Japan time, just about three hours ago. To listen to the song and for more information about it continue reading!

Lyrics: halyosy
Composer: halyosy
Arrange:  halyosy
Vocal: Hatsune Miku

Basically the song talks about the thoughts and feelings surrounding graduation and how graduation tends to make people feel emotional during this period. Created by halyosy back in Feb 2008, the song was a popular hit and was on the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking for some time before it eventually died down. Then, as the graduation season draws near again this year, the song gets popular once again and subsequently regains its top spot on the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking. In March 2009, halyosy’s band “absorb” performs the song live for a high school graduation and now the song is being used throughout the high schools in Japan as their graduation song.

Just recently it was announced that a movie will be based on it and they are still holding auditions for extra cast up to today, 30th March 09 (as the main cast have already been selected), as Kevin has kindly pointed in the post regarding this song. And oh, if you haven’t listened to the version sung by absorb as well, then it’s time you watch it below. It’s truly a very nice song in my opinion.

Once again, congrats on Sakura no Ame reaching the one million views mark. currently 132rd on the Nico Nico Douga Million Views Video Ranking list. =)

  1. Nice to meet you. I am cele_cro.
I came from the link column of “Typenist”.
I have been surprised for VOCALOID to be written terribly and in detail though I am Japanese.
I pair the group with five companions who got acquainted through “Typenist” and am acting. It is a name “Sound Typenisters♪”.
You might not be able possibly to read because we write in Japanese.
When you visit once, I think that I am glad.
If you can understand Japanese, I use Japanese or Ro-maji too.

    Thank you very much.
